FAQ

What's your style?

I am a natural light lifestyle photographer. I want to capture beautiful memories and moments for you to look back on and remember. I don’t want to capture you sitting there all smiling at the camera (however we will get a couple of those). I want to capture the perfectly imperfect, the cheeky smiles, the look that you might give one another that only you know what that means. I want to capture the love, emotion and connection between you and your loved ones.

What should we expect during our session?

We want it to be fun not forced! It's all about having fun with your family and enjoying the moment with each other, with plenty of laughs, playing, kisses and cuddles. I will guide you and give direction into different positions so we can get the best light, or will ask you to get close for a cuddle but the rest is all up to you.

What time does a session take place?

For indoor sessions I suggest the morning around 10AM as babies/young children are usually a bit more happy and relaxed in the mornings.
I capture outdoor sessions during golden hour, which is around an hour before sunset.

How long before we receive our images?

I like to send a sneak peek within a couple of days. You will receive your secure online gallery for veiwing within two weeks.

What if it is raining when our session is booked in?

If it's raining, we will reschedule your session. If it looks as if it will be wet, we can either make the call the night before or play it by ear and wait until the morning. I will be in contact in the days leading up to the session to chat about options if needed.

What should I wear?

The goal is that you feel amazing with what you are wearing, you also need to be comfortable. Without a doubt there are choices you can make about what to wear that will make your session that little bit extra special to look back on. I've added some tips below.
• Neutrals are timeless!
• Flowy skirts / maxi dresses or simple, classic basics matched with textured overlays, photograph really beautifully.
• Please don't wear shirts with big graphics / logos, / lettering - or mixing too many different patterns.
• It’s always nice if your family can wear complimentary colours - but not matchy-matchy!! Its great if Mum picks her outfit first (take this opportunity to go out and buy yourself something you love and feel AMAZING in!) and coordinate the rest of the family around you.
• Try to avoid blacks and really dark colours if you're having an in-home family or newborn session or if you’re having a maternity session (as black can hide your beautiful bump!)
• For newborns, keep it simple – a plain white onesie (which doesn’t cover their tiny little fingers and toes) paired with a beautiful swaddle or blanket.
• Consider the location where you will be having your photo session when choosing your outfit - eg. shoes and socks for a session at the beach is not going to be practical!

When is a good time to capture my pregnancy?

A great time to capturing your pregnancy is around 30-36 weeks to ensure we don't schedule to close to your due date but also so you have a beautiful bump to show off.
